Welcome

The Workbook

If you want to make notes, use the Workbook. It is a simple text-editing tool (with no formatting facilities). When you are working within a module, you can find it by clicking on the Workbook icon at the bottom left of the screen.

When you first open the workbook in a session, you have to enter your name, e-mail address and organisation, and select the name of your specialist tutor. This is so that the computer can store your work in your own folder and so that all your details are available should you wish to e-mail the work in the Workbook to your tutor.

When the details have been entered, click on OK.

Your Workbook will open on the page for your module. If you wish to look at your work for other modules, click on the module tabs at the top of the page.

You can write your notes by clicking in the large space in the middle of the screen. Write what you please. You can then choose to save your work and/or e-mail it to your tutor.

If you have overwritten some existing work and want to go back to the original, click on Reload your work. Provided you haven’t saved the new work, the old work will reload. Note: this overwrites the new work.

Click on Clear memory to remove your work on the module from memory.

When your work is saved, it is held on the hard disc of the computer on which you are working. If you access the program from a different computer, this work will not be available to you.
